I've always enjoyed travelling & exploring a new (to me) beautiful places! Back in December we have decided to visit the capital city of Hungary - BUDAPEST along with its famous therme bath Széchenyi.

We have also filmed our trip & I have shared it with you all on my YOUTUBE CHANNEL or you can watch the video down here as well. Feel free to comment & subscribe to my channel to see more videos.
I'd love to share some of my ideas for trips, etc. if you're about to visit Budapest as well. It's such a beautiful city and since we were there right before Christmas we have visited many of Christmas markets there as well.
Tips for trips:
Budapest Parliament:
This building has definitely one of the most beautiful architecture I have ever seen! (It's the building you can see on the photo above). We pretty much visited this beautiful place more than once during that week even thought it wasn't the nearest one.
If you'll check Instagram this building is propably mostly seen from any of the Budapest places.
Buda Castle & Castle Hill:
Another really nice walk. Up to hills, stairs, etc. But it's definitely worth it! Such a breath-taking view. Complex of more buildings and lookouts.
The Danube Promenade:
Pretty much by the Budapest Parliament building you'll be able to see ''Budapest shoes''. It's actually a memorial for Jews who were shot there by the Nazis during the World War II.
Gellért Hill:
If the Buda Castle & Castle Hill I've mentioned previously wasn't enough of hills then this one propably will be. Again... hills & stairs. Sadly we have visited this place when it was quite smogy so the view wasn't the best but it was still breath-taking one. You'll be able to see the whole (or the most of) Budapest from there!
Heroes' Square & the Millennium Monument:
As we lived only about 1,5km away from this place we pretty much visited it nearly everyday of that week. Quite plain square in my opinion but you know.. when in Budapest.. :-)
Széchenyi Thermal Bath:
This place was definitely our number one to visit when we have planned our Budapest trip. Gorgeous complex of yellow buildings which reminds me of Greece a little bit. It was built in 1913!
This is the only place from the one's I'll talk about that is not for free (obviously). But the price wasn't that bad & it's really worth it! I believe you need to make a reservation before you visit this place & then they will send you a confirmation e-mail so you can enjoy your day in the there baths.
There are 2 or 3 big pools outside, the biggest one was also the one with the highest temperature - but don't worry - nothing crazy. Downstairs is a sauna (this one was really warm) & a little pool with really cold water. If you'll go upstairs you'll entry the looooong building full of 15 different pools , saunas, etc. There are some herbal ones, sulphur ones, iron ones, etc. Some were hot, some not (actually some were too cold I wouldn't entry it). From saunas I've enjoyed the herbal one the most - it wasn't nothing crazy so I was ok with that (I have a pretty much low blood-pressure so saunas are usually a problem for me) and you could smell mint which was really nice.
My tip for you is to buy one ticket for cabin & one just with a locker if you're a couple (or for a family more locker ones & one for cabin). The cabin ticket is obviously more expensive but if you don't mind sharing your cabin with your loved ones then you can save some money. We didn't know that so we bought two cabin tickets but still shared one cabin as there was many people & they asked us if we are ok with that.

City Park:
It's pretty much nearby the Heroes' square & Széchenyi and we also lived close to this park so we pretty much walked a lot around there. Sadly it was pretty much wet outside even if there wasn't been raining as we were in Budapest so we weren't able to discover the whole park. It's popular for running outside (my boyfriend went running there as well :-D ).
Margaret Island:
Another really popular place for those who like to run, ride a bicycle, etc. We went there just once as it was around 20km walk for us but it was really nice place to visit as well. There's also a huge park, gardens & mini ''ZOO''.
Where we stayed there:
As we were searching for the best accomodation for us I didn't really care if it's some hotel, pension, apartment,... of course we didn't want to spend too much money on it but we're not into hostels & sharing bathroom with someone else. So the only conditions for us were to have our own BATHROOM... hehe :-D
As we were looking on different places on booking.com there was one apartment I've immadiately fell in love with. It was a small flat with ''bedroom'' upstairs, white & really nice looking. That was different from any places we have ever had stayed in. Let's be honest... I'd love to have an apartment like that somewhere by the sea!
The apartment was located nearby the City Park, Széchenyi & Heroes' Square as I mentioned before. It was actually an AirBnB apartment located in an old building which didn't look nice from outside, even if you walked inside the building it was pretty much dirty & old but the apartment was GORGEOUS! Small but really stunning! Sadly I wasn't been able to find it anymore but it was located on Peterdy Utca street.
We pretty much had nice small kitchen together with dining room & living room and upstairs was our little bedroom. Bathroom with bath, toilet, sink, mirror & cabinet was behind the kitchen.
Where to buy food:
As we stayed in an apartment with kitchen we cook our meal. We mostly bought ingredients in the local Spar or Lidl. So most of the time we had yoghurt for breakfast, some italian sauce with pasta for lunch & dinner and after dinner we enjoyed a tasty cheese (and Vojta also ate hungarian sausage) and sparkly wine - it was really cheap one but really tasty! Wish we had those for the same price here in the Czech Republic.
Public transport:
Sorry, I'm not the right person to ask for this as we used to walk everywhere on our own. We pretty much arrived to Népliget from where we walked to our apartment with suitcases for about 5km and then we walked for around 15-20km per day.
