TRAVEL DIARY - Wien, Austria

 

As a travel lover I love going on trips as well and when it comes to capital cities - Wien (the capital city of Austria) is definitely one of my favourite cities to visit.

Back in spring 2013 I used to live and work in a restaurant named Kolariks Luftburg in Prater with my classmates (school practition). We used to live in a cottage about 4,5km from where we worked. Last year when we visited (August 2023) the cottage was quite destroyed, abandoned, a tree growing up from the roof,... and sadly this time when we visited (August 2024) the cottage was already gone :-(

However last year we planned to visit Prater, Hundertwasser Haus, Belvedere Palace and Schonbrunn Palace but sadly our daughter Vanessa felt sick that day and we had to shorten the trip - visited only Prater and Hundertwasser Haus and went back to the car. 

This year we were able to visit Prater, Belvedere Palace and Schonbrunn Palace (about 28-30km walk). The weather was lovely and sunny...quite hot too. We had a picknick by the Prater park with the view of roller coasters which was really lovely.

Quite accidentally we also visited a botanic garden which was right by the Belvedere Palace. It was such a beautiful place with many gorgeous flowers, palm trees, bamboo, trees,...etc. and it was for free!
